A Smithers children’s author recently released her debut book Under The Porch Monsters.
Luba Kasum said the story was originally written seven years ago for her kids who feature as the main characters.
“They both were and still are very imaginative and curious kids with lots going on in their lives,” she said.
Over the summer, Kasum worked with Ukranian artist Olena Kyrychenko to work on the book’s drawings.
“I was always looking for books and movies in both languages so that inspired me because I know Canada has so many bilingual kids,” said Kasum.
She hopes to release the book in several other languages in the future.
Kasum is working on a second children’s book she hopes to release.
Tomorrow (Saturday), Kasum will be launching her book at the Kaleidoscope Festival in Smithers with copies available for purchase.
