Lacey Chabert is spreading the love and giving credit where it’s due in her new movie Hot Frosty.
The film, now available for streaming on Netflix, includes a subtle shout-out to Chabert’s Mean Girls co-star, Lindsay Lohan. Lohan, who stars in her own holiday movie titled “Falling for Christmas,” briefly appears in a scene in Chabert’s new film.
Fans of Mean Girls are also in for a surprise as Lohan’s Christmas film features a reunion with Mean Girls co-star Tim Meadows, who played Principal Duvall in the 2004 teen comedy and returned for the 2024 musical adaptation, which included a cameo from Lohan.
“I don’t know whose idea it was, but when I heard the idea of referencing Lindsay, I loved it,” Chabert told Us Weekly in an exclusive interview. “It’s perfect, and I’m so happy. This feels like coming full circle.”
During the in-depth interview, Chabert mentioned that she and Lohan have known each other since childhood and reflected on how they are now mothers: “I’m so happy we’re still on this journey together.”
Lohan also took to Instagram stories to post a photo of the pair with the caption: “So fetch catching up with my girl @thereallacey.”
Chabert and Lohan both starred in the iconic 2004 film Mean Girls, where Lohan played Cady, the new girl in town, and Chabert portrayed Gretchen, one of the “queen wannabes.” Mean Girls has become a cultural icon, and we love to see Chabert and Lohan keeping the spirit alive.
