According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Daw Khaing Nyein Su, a Counsellor from Myanmar’s Consulate-General in Nanning, China, participated in the opening of the China-ASEAN Book Fair alongside ASEAN representatives.
The event is being held at the Nanning International Convention Centre from 16 to 19 November. The fair features a diverse range of exhibits, including collections from publishing houses, university bookstores, and educational departments. Stalls showcase works from printing and publishing houses, digital publications in the education sector, themed displays of award-winning books, and books translated and published by ASEAN countries. Additionally, international and ASEAN-imported books are also on display.
A highlight of the event was the signing of a “Framework for International Cooperation and Publication”, aimed at promoting the translation and publication of Chinese books. The programme also includes literary talks and interactive games designed to engage younger audiences. — ASH/TMT
