Nearly two years ago, the Fairbanks Soil and Water Conservation District received funding from a specialty crop block grant, which it purposely turned into an educational funding source that allowed Interior Alaska students to develop a farming business plan.
The students were tasked with developing a 100-acre lot owned by the Alaska Department of Natural Resources located in the Nenana-Totchaket Agricultural Project, in line with the state’s farm plan regulations.
