There are many different Christmas movies available to watch this holiday season. Some of them were not only filmed in Georgia but feature the local towns’ landmarks.
Here’s a closer at 15 movies filmed in the Peach State including how to watch them and where specifically they were shot:
“A Taste of Christmas”
Rated PG, released Nov. 20, 2020: After learning her cousin must cancel the Christmas Eve opening of her Italian restaurant, Natalie (Anni Krueger) sets out to make the opening day happen.
The movie was filmed in multiple locations in North Georgia, including Helen and Dahlonega. Dahlonega is particularly visible in the film. It can be streamed on Hoopla and Lifetime’s app or website.

“A Bad Moms Christmas”
Rated R, released Nov. 1, 2017: A sequel to 2016’s “Bad Moms.” The Christmas of three under-appreciated and overburdened moms (played by Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn, and Kristen Bell) is thrown upside down when they are visited by their own mothers (played by Christine Baranski, Susan Sarandon, and Cheryl Hines).
The movie was shot in Atlanta-area malls. It’s available to stream on Netflix and can also be bought or rent at a discount on most on-demand streaming services.
“A Jenkins Family Christmas”
Released Sept. 10, 2021: After burying their father earlier in the year, two sisters (Regina Taylor and Kim Coles) attempt to carry on his Christmas traditions without strangling each other. When an unknown half-sister (Tammy Townsend) arrives at the family festivities, more than just Christmas presents are exchanged.
The movie was shot primarily at a private home in Roswell. It’s available to stream on BET+ and Fubo. It’s also available to buy on-demand on Apple TV and “Fandango at Home.”
“A Madea Christmas”
Rated PG-13, released Dec. 13, 2013: This is a holiday special in Tyler Perry’s hit franchise. Madea dispenses her unique form of holiday spirit on a rural town when she’s coaxed into helping a friend (Anna Maria Horsford) pay her daughter a surprise visit in the country for Christmas.
The movie was shot in Atlanta and McDonough. It’s available to stream on PlutoTV.
“Christmas in Homestead”
Rated TV-G, released Nov. 24, 2016: A Hallmark Christmas movie in which an actress (Taylor Cole) heads to a Christmas-obsessed town of to shoot a holiday-themed movie. She is shocked when a romance blooms with a local dad (Michael Rady). As she gets a taste of small-town life, she discovers the true meaning of Christmas.
The movie was filmed in Dahlonega. It can be streamed on Peacock, Tubi, Hallmark+, Fubo, and Pluto TV.
“Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses”
Rated G, released Nov. 17, 2019: Another Hallmark Christmas movie in which Abbey (Jill Wagener) is hired to decorate the estate of businessman Nick (Matthew Davis). She must break down the wall between the two of them while keeping the holiday spirit alive.
It was filmed in Lawrenceville, Monroe, Stone Mountain, and Marietta. It’s available to stream on Hallmark+ and to buy or rent on most on-demand streaming services.
“Dashing Through the Snow”
Rated PG, released Nov. 17, 2023: After a traumatic experience, a social worker (Ludacris) no longer believes in the magic of Christmas. At the request of his estranged wife (Teyonah Parris), he brings his daughter (Madison Skye Validum) to work where a magical adventure begins for them with Santa Claus (Lil Rel Howery).
It was filmed in the Atlanta and multiple landmarks are visible. It’s available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
“Christmas in the Smokies”
Rated TV-G, released Nov. 29, 2015: A young woman (Sarah Lancaster) battling to save her family’s Smoky Mountain berry farm decides to organise a Christmas concert, calling in a favour from her country music star ex-boyfriend (Alan Powell).
The movie was filmed in Dahlonega. It’s available to stream on Peacock, Vudu, Tubi, Pure Flix, PlutoTv, Plex, Freevee, and BYUtv.
“Dear Santa”
Rated PG-13, released Nov. 25: A child (Robert Timothy Smith) accidentally messes up his spelling and sends his Christmas list to Satan (Jack Black) instead of Santa.
It was filmed in metro Atlanta, including Decatur and Duluth. It’s streamed exclusively on Paramount+ but can also be bought on most on-demand streaming services.

“Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square”
Rated TV-PG, released Nov. 22, 2020: A scrooge of a woman (Christine Baranski) plans to sell her small town with no regard for the people living there, until she receives a visit from an angel (Dolly Parton).
The movie was filmed largely around Atlanta. It can be streamed on Netflix and bought for just $5 on most on-demand streaming services.
“Holidate”
Rated TV-MA, released Oct. 28, 2020: Fed up with being single on holidays, two strangers (Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey) agree to be each other’s platonic plus-ones all year long, only to catch real feelings along the way.
The movie was filmed in Atlanta. It’s streamed exclusively on Netflix.
“A Perfect Christmas Pairing”
Rated PG, released Nov. 1, 2023: After a bad review from a food critic, a renowned chef (Ansley Gordon) returns home for Christmas and reconnects with her roots.
The movie was filmed in LaGrange and several landmarks were featured. It can be streamed on Prime Video, Peacock, the Roku Channel, Hoopla, Tubi, PlutoTV, and Freevee.
“Red One”
Rated PG-13, released Nov. 15: When a villain kidnaps Santa Claus (J.K. Simmons) from the North Pole, an “Extremely Large and Formidable” operative (Dwayne Johnson) joins forces with the world’s most accomplished tracker (Chris Evans) to find him and save Christmas.
Filming took place throughout Georgia, including in Atlanta, Conyers, Savannah, and Jekyll Island. It’s only available to watch in theaters.

“The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special”
Rated PG-13, released Nov. 25, 2022: Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy go on a mission to make Christmas unforgettable for Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and head to Earth in search of the perfect present: Kevin Bacon.
It was filmed at Trilith Studios in Fayetteville. It’s streamed exclusively on Disney+.
“The Holiday Dating Guide”
Rated TV-PG, released Dec. 17, 2022: Abigale Slater (Maria Menounos) gets her dream come true when she finishes her first book – A guide to dating in the modern world. However, to satisfy her publisher, she must prove her advice works by making a man fall for her within the next 12 days.
The movie was filmed in Tifton including multiple landmarks. It’s available to stream on Hoopla and on Lifetime’s app or website.
