Broadcaster, influencer, bestselling author and founder of The Hike Life brand, Roz Purcell, will host a hill walking workshop and book signing at Kennys Bookshop in Liosbán, this Saturday, November 30 at 2pm.
Tickets are €10, and all proceeds go to Galway Mountain Rescue, a volunteer service.
Rozanna Pucell is best known as a model, winning Miss Universe Ireland in 2009. She is also an experienced mountaineer, and won the 2023 lifestyle award at last year’s Irish Book Awards for The Hike Life: My 50 Favourite Hikes in Ireland.
The workshop will be hosted by Purcell and mountaineering instructor, Brian Bateson of climbit.ie Topics covered will include how to layer for hiking, gear guide, simple navigation, route planning, and what to do in an emergency.
Purcell will also be signing copies of her new book, The Hike Life: 50 More to Explore which showcases 50 trails around Ireland including Strickeen in the Gap of Dunloe, and Urris Lakes Loop in Donegal. The book includes route descriptions, best photo spots, where to eat afterwards, and ideas for places for a wild dip.
Copies of both Roz’s Hike Life books will be available at the event.
