For 65 years, Evans Flowers has been at the heart of Orillia, spreading joy through fresh blooms and giving back to the community.
To mark this milestone, the shop has spent the past month surprising customers with gift certificates and bouquets.
Owner Sandra Wink credits the shop’s longevity to its deep community roots and dedication to quality.
“We have customers that are three generational now,” Wink said. “What’s amazing is they saw me grow up from a little girl to who I am now. We are dealing with their grandchildren now. Whether they are in town or not, they call us to send something to their grandparents. It’s something that we love, and that’s a big part of why we do what we do.”
Wink’s parents, Jerry and Marian Wink, started the family business in 1959 and have since passed the torch.
Although retired, the couple still pitch in during the busiest times of the year, like Christmas.
The shop’s reach extends beyond floral arrangements.
Evans Flowers has long supported local organizations, including Mariposa Hospice, Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, and the Kiwanis Club of Orillia.
