Mary Grand’s latest book, A Christmas Murder, hit the top spot on the Kindle best-seller list on November 20, and again on November 24.
A Christmas Murder, which features amateur sleuth Susan Flynn, was published on September 5 in hardback, paperback, ebook, and audiobook formats.
The story unfolds at the fictional Bishopstone Manor, a luxury country hotel on the Island, closely resembling the National Trust property Mottistone Manor.
The plot follows Duncan Fern, the editor of the controversial tabloid The Daily Flame, who arrives on the Island for a snowy Christmas with his family.
After being snowed in on the first night, he is found dead the next morning, supposedly from a heart attack.
However, amateur detective Susan Flynn suspects foul play and embarks on a quest to unmask the killer among the guests.
This marks Mary Grand’s sixth novel published by the award-winning Boldwood Books and the third featuring Susan Flynn.
Mary said: “I am thrilled to top Amazon’s best seller chart. I have always loved Agatha Christie books and in particular Hercule Poirot’s Christmas.
“I wanted to write my own Christmas murder mystery and it is wonderful that so many people are reading it as they prepare for Christmas.”
Locally, the book is available at Medina Bookshop in Cowes, where Mary will be signing copies at the Cowes Late Night Christmas Shopping Event from 5pm on Thursday, December 5.
Libraries stock the novel alongside Mary’s other works, and it can be ordered at Waterstones and other bookshops.
The audiobook is accessible on Spotify and Audible, and the ebook can be found on Kobo, Google Books, and other platforms, in addition to Amazon.
