Forecasters expect cool and mostly dry conditions in the Portland area that will linger through the weekend, but early fog could slow early Thanksgiving travel.
The National Weather Service calls for a high of 45 degrees in Portland on Thursday, with temperatures in the mid-40s through most of the Willamette Valley.
The weather service says overnight fog in the valley and Coast Range lowlands should clear out by 11 a.m. Until then, there’s the possibility of dense fog that reduces visibility to a quarter mile or less.
Forecasters suggest driving slow, using low-beam headlights and leaving extra space in foggy conditions.
Friday will bring an overnight low of 33 degrees. The rest of the week will see highs in the mid- to high 40s, possibly rising into the low 50s by Tuesday.
Foggy mornings could persist for several days, along with chilly evenings that could bring overnight frost and slick roads.
