He’s got a plethora of top movies under his belt, and now Liam Neeson’s fans will be spoiled for choice as two of his biggest films have been added to the popular streamer. Taken as well as Star Wars will be available on the streaming giant.
They flocked to social media to celebrate the arrival of the top movies, calling Taken “the best Liam Neeson film ever” on Reddit.
Popverse gave its take on the two mega-movies coming to Netflix. They said: “Liam Neeson once was a respected Jedi Master in the Star Wars universe, but he chose to specialize in action flicks ever since the first Taken movie was released in 2008. “
Liam’s fans have been raving about another of his action greats, too. The Land of Saints and Sinners and have heaped praise on the flick. They have got their popcorn ready, saying it’s the perfect viewing for the weekend.
Liam’s followers flocked to social media site Reddit to discuss just why it’s spot on – and they have even mimicked some of his famous phrases.
One wrote: “This is perfect Saturday night viewing.” A second said: “Cheers for the heads up. That’s my Sat night sorted.”
A third said: “Be careful. Big Liam has a big set of skills.” A fourth chimed in, mimicking his famous lines: “I will come for you.”
Despite receiving some criticism upon its initial release, the film has seen a surge in popularity on Netflix. Having premiered at the Venice Film Festival back in September, it’s now widely available for comfortable home viewing.
The film’s premiere received a mixed bag of reactions, with some critics lambasting its stereotypical portrayal of Irish culture. The Hollywood Reporter commented: “The paddywhackery’s as thick as the Oirish brogues and flavorful caricatures in Robert Lorenz’s In the Land of Saints and Sinners.”
They also remarked, “Not since the merry blarney of Wild Mountain Thyme has a movie leaned so hard into Emerald Isle stereotypes, which makes it remarkable that Liam Neeson as a pipe-smoking, Dostoevsky-reading assassin manages to play it straight.”
