Ryan Gosling is undoubtedly a favourite for many, having charmed audiences in The Notebook, tugged at heartstrings in La La Land, and provided entertainment in Barbie. However, it appears that one of his earlier roles has slipped the minds of fans.
Gosling fans have taken to the internet to express their shock upon realising he was in a well-known film from the early 2000s. Gosling portrayed Alan Bosley in Remember The Titans, yet this seems to have been largely forgotten.
The movie, set in 1971, follows the true story of a racially integrated high school football team in Alexandria, Virginia, and explores how sport can bridge divides and foster unity.
The rediscovery of Gosling’s performance as Alan has left fans astonished, with clips garnering thousands of views and sparking conversations online. Some viewers confessed to never having watched the film before.
Comment range from disbelief to newfound appreciation, with one person saying: “Why did I not know Ryan Gosling was this guy in Remember the Titans? ” Others shared similar sentiments, with remarks like: “Finally, someone who likes Remember the Titans” and: “Oh my gosh. That’s actually crazy because I watched this movie in school and always thought he was cute.”
Another individual expressed surprise, stating: “I was today years old when I found out Ryan Gosling was in this movie.”
Gosling, who is now 44, appears remarkably youthful in throwback clips from the film. He secured the part after his roles in Young Hercules and Breaker High during the late ’90s, a period when he was beginning to establish himself as an emerging actor.

Prior to his role in Remember the Titans, Gosling’s acting credits were largely limited to guest appearances, recurring characters, or lead roles in television series or TV films. Remember the Titans represented his second gig in a major motion picture, following his 1996 performance in “Frankenstein and Me”.
In the film, Gosling played Alan Bosley, one of the white students from the previously segregated T. C.Williams High School.
