MILTON — AMOSS, a healing collective space with a witchy flair has relocated to a new location at 1 Broadway in Milton.
The sole owner, Jen Plastini, and her husband moved to Milton from Westchester County, New York, 12 years ago. “We were looking for a place to live; we visited here and liked the area,” she said.
Plastini had been an alternative healing practitioner for many years, she said, “but initially I was doing it out of my home and going to people’s houses as needed.”
It was during a time when she had health problems, and told her husband that she wanted to develop and grow her healing business. “I had always wanted to have my own business,” she said.
AMOSS was already established as a healing business at 60 South Front Street. Two years ago, Plastini bought the business from the original owners. Then, this past November, she moved into the 1 Broadway location.
The space was in good shape when she moved in. “It needed some repainting, but we were able to open for business, although we are still in the midst of refurbishing, bringing in some new furniture,” she said.
Among services provided at AMOSS are Reiki sessions, provided by Plastini. Reiki is a Japanese healing art (roughly, a kind of massage) that encourages health and well-being of the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies.
“It is very relaxing. Very soothing,” she said. Reiki sessions are by appointment.
Plastini also does spiritual coaching, helping people develop their psychic skills. She also reads tarot cards, “but not as fortune telling. I’m not trying to tell anyone’s future. It is just a way of guiding people.”
Products sold at the AMOSS space include crystals, herbs, teas, candles, books, tarot cards. “I make made-to-order products such as teas and salves. I kind of like being the ‘village witch,’ and helping people,” she said.
Running her business has been a revelation, she said. “I do the mundane, but important aspects of financials, marketing, and record keeping. I have a group of very supportive people who help me out in that regard. It definitely has been a learning curve.”
Hours of operation are 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and noon to 7 p.m. Saturdays. To set up an appointment or for more information, call 914-989-0983.
