The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) will host the Maldives Travel Conference 2025: Women’s Edition in Addu City on January 25, 2025. The event will take place at Equator Village in S. Gan, the conference’s official Venue Partner.
Endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Social and Family Development, MMPRC/Visit Maldives, Addu City Council, NHGAM, and several women’s associations, the conference will feature an all-female panel discussing key topics:
– Expanding career opportunities for women in Addu’s tourism sector beyond resort employment.
– Addressing societal stigma surrounding women in the workforce.
In collaboration with the Business Center Corporation (BCC), the event will also include a Financial Literacy Training session for women. Registration for this free training is open on MATATO’s website until January 20, 2025.
This edition continues MATATO’s Women’s Edition initiative, launched in August 2024, aimed at empowering women in the tourism industry. Future editions are scheduled for Thoddoo in May 2025 and Malé in August 2025, in partnership with Hotel Jen Malé.
