Netflix’s teen drama XO, Kitty will return for season two this week, almost two years after its debut.
Based on a character from Jenny Han’s beloved novel, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, the second instalment will follow teen matchmaker Kitty Song Covey as she adjusts to being single.
Fans of the show will know that season one saw Kitty in a relationship with Dae, who she believed was her one true love. However, the couple later split up. Now, the 16-year-old is returning for a new semester at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS), ready for a fresh start. Heartstopper

Alice Oseman’s coming-of-age story has captivated fans of romance and drama for three seasons. Based on the author’s graphic novels of the same name, Heartstopper boasts a near-perfect 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The synopsis reads: “Teens Charlie and Nick discover their unlikely friendship might be something more as they navigate school and young love in this coming-of-age series.”
The cast is lead by Joe Locke as Charlie and Kit Connor as Nick, with stellar supporting actors Yasmin Finney, William Gao, Rhea Norwood, Corinna Brown and Tobie Donovan, portraying their friendship group.
My Life with the Walter Boys

Based on Ali Novak’s 2014 novel, which first came to life on the online publisher Wattpad, this drama is slated to release a second season this year.
The Synopsis reads: “When a tragedy disrupts her life, a teen moves in with her guardian’s big family in a small town and learns new lessons about love, hope and friendship.”
Starring Nikki Rodriguez as the main character, Jackie Howard, the series explores important themes such as grief and navigating romantic relationships across ten episodes.
Geek Girl

Adapted from Holly Smale’s bestselling novel series, Geek Girl premiered in May 2024. The limited ten-episode drama was widely praised, with critics awarding it a fresh 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The synopsis reads: “Awkward teen Harriet has always wanted to fit in. Until she gets scouted by a top London model agent and learns that some people are meant to stand out.”
House of the Dragon star Emily Carey plays the titular ‘Geek Girl’. She is joined by Liam Woodrum, Emmanuel Imani and Daisy Jelley.
I Am Not Okay With This

Originally published as graphic novels by Charles Forsman, I Am Not Okay With This marries the coming-of-age and science-fiction genres.
The synopsis reads: “Angsty Syd navigates high school awkwardness, family drama and an unrequited crush on her best friend while trying to rein in her budding superpowers.”
It stars Sophia Lillis, who is known for her roles in the hit horror films It and It: Chapter Two. Unfortunately the series was cancelled after just one season.
Trinkets

Trinkets, based on Kirsten Smith’s 2013 novel of the same name, ran for two seasons on the streaming giant.
The synopsis reads: “A grieving teen finds an unexpected connection with two classmates at her new high school after they all land in the same Shoplifters Anonymous group.”
Starring Brianna Hildebrand, best known for Deadpool, the 20-episode show delves into poignant themes, including mental health struggles.
