Australia’s peak Hellenic business chamber recently met with its equivalent in Thessaloniki to further business and trade opportunities and discuss a new flight route to Greece’s second largest city.
Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry National Federation (HACCI NF ) president Elena Limnios, travelled to Greece this month and met with board members of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TCCI).
“Australia presents a wealth of opportunities for Greek products to enter the country’s market, but it will take some effort to get there,” TCCI said in an announcement following the meeting.
Food and beverage, and construction material industries were flagged as the most promising for bilateral commerce avenues.
On the agenda was also the need for establishing a flight route from Thessaloniki to Australia.
Attendees included TCCI board members Konstantinos Moraitidis, Panayiotis Menexopoulos and Konstantina Kyrgidou among others.
The meeting is part of structured collaboration initiatives, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between HACCI and Greek organisations in August to enhance bilateral business, industrial and export relations between the two countries.
The Greek signatories include the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), the Greek Exporters Association (SEVE), and the National Chamber Network of Women Entrepreneurs (EEDEGE).
