Emergency witnesses slight growth
Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency made a decent impact at the domestic box office on its second day despite facing competition from Ajay Devgn’s Azaad. According to Sacnilk, a trade website, the political drama earned Rs 3.5 crore on January 18. The figure is 40% higher than the Rs 2.5 crore it raked in on the first day.
Here is the day-wise breakdown:
Day 1: Rs 2.5 crore
Day 2: 3.5 crore
The total collection stands at Rs 6 crore. The film is likely to witness some growth today (January 19) as well as it is a Sunday. Emergency received mixed reviews with critics lauding the performances but panning the execution. This will be a challenge for the film once the initial buzz dies down. It may, however, benefit from the dull response to Azaad.
