US President-elect Donald Trump flew into Washington on Saturday as celebrations begin ahead of his second inauguration as the nation’s leader.
CBS News reports that Trump landed at Dulles Airport in the evening with guests from the tech industry, friends from the business world, conservative media stars, and supporters expected to witness the change of power.
Speaking on the swearing-in ceremony, Trump made it clear that he did not intend to see people hurt.
“There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country. I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way…
“Therefore, I have ordered the Inauguration Address, in addition to prayers and other speeches, to be delivered in the United States Capitol Rotunda, as was used by Ronald Reagan in 1985, also because of very cold weather,” he penned on Truth Social.
Among those expected to grace the momentous occasion to perform are country music artists Carrie Underwood, Billy Ray Cyrus and Jason Aldean.
Disco band the Village People, rapper Nelly and musician Kid Rock are also billed to perform during the ceremonies and events.
Expected to appear are Hollywood veteran Jon Voight and former WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan.
Additionally, a crew of business executives, Tesla and X CEO Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew will be present at the inauguration.
