We are talking about the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this weekend on In Focus.
JoDee Kenney was joined by Anthony Gaddy, president & CEO, Upstate New York Black Chamber of Commerce, which works to support Black business owners and grow entrepreneurship. Gaddy said the chamber has grown since its inception in 2017 and continues to focus on its five pillars of service: advocacy, access to capital, contract opportunities, technical support and chamber development. Among the challenges black business owners face, Gaddy said access to capital remains an issue. He said, developing relationships with financial institutions can be critical to securing loans. Ultimately, Gaddy said, chamber members are not only learning from each other, but are also able to get support from the network of U.S. Black Chambers to support growth and expand opportunities.
