If you have reading goals for this year, you may be wondering what books should fulfill them. Reedsburg Public Library staff would like to alert you to a number of upcoming titles.
For fans of popular and prolific authors, there is no danger of you running out of reading materials. Danielle Steel has three new books coming out early in the year including “Never Say Never” in January, “Far From Home” in March, and “A Mind of Her Own” in April. James Patterson continues his multiple series in the winter months with “Holmes is Missing” from the “Holmes Marple and Poe” series, “Paranoia” from the Michael Bennett series, and “The Texas Murders” from the Texas Ranger series.
If conquering a literary fiction title is a goal this year, you may be interested in the book “We Do Not Part” by Han Kang released this month. Kang received the Nobel Prize for literature in 2024. Her new book traces the friendship of two women in Korea during a tumultuous time in the country’s history. In general fiction, Ann Tyler’s “Three Days in June” follows the activities of a socially awkward mother of the bride and will be published in February. JoJo Moyes’ much anticipated “We All Live Here,” also comes out next month.

In romance, Emily Henry’s “Great Big Beautiful Life” is expected on April 22. In this outing, two authors compete for “the big story,” and one of them will succeed if love doesn’t get in the way. A standalone book from Abby Jimenez, “Say You’ll Remember Me” will also be published in April.
In cozy mysteries, M. C. Beaton’s “Death of a Smuggler” is expected in February, and Laura Child’s” High Tea and Misdemeanors” in April. In the mystery/thriller category, Freida McFadden’s “The Crash” comes out in January, and follows the story of a stranded motorist whose rescuer has ulterior motives. “Don’t Let Him In” by Lisa Jewell is scheduled for June. Ruth Ware’s sequel to “The Woman in Cabin Ten, entitled “The Woman in Suite 11” will be released in July.
In Fantasy, Rebecca Yarros’ “The Onyx Storm,” the follow up to “The Iron Flame” is expected in January. Probably the most popular book in Science Fiction/Young Adult releases this year will be Suzanne Collins’ “Sunrise on the Reaping” to be released on March 18. The book is a prequel to the Hunger Games series and tells the story of Haymitch’s experiences in the early games.
Popular YA author John Green has a new book coming out in March entitled “Everything is Tuberculosis.” Green is well known for his YA title “The Fault in Our Stars.” This new book is the nonfiction story of a young tuberculosis patient in Sierra Leone. Markus Zusak who wrote “The Book Thief” in 2006, has written a nonfiction book about his life with pets entitled “Three Wild Dogs (and the Truth)” expected this month. Ron Chernow, popular biographer of Alexander Hamilton and Ulysses S. Grant, will publish a book about Mark Twain in May.
