If you’re looking for a good bargain on books and to help a good cause, then you will want to mark your calendar for the 45th annual Big Book Sale at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds. The book sale is a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma County.
The annual book sale is hosted by the Friends of the Metropolitan Library System and raises funds for the Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma County. The sale is free and open to the public, but there will be an exclusive sale for Friends of the Library members before the big sale takes place. The book sale will take place at the Oklahoma Expo Building at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds.
The exclusive members-only event will take place from 1-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21. The rest of sale for general shopping will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 and Sunday, Feb. 23. To accommodate older adults and those who need more time to browse with less people and less noise, the Friends of the Library will limit the sale to 500 people at a time from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday.
Book shoppers are encouraged to bring their own tote bag!
For those who are planning on loading up on books, the Friends of the Library do encourage shoppers to bring their own tote bags to carry their purchases throughout the sale. Shoppers are also welcome to bring other means of carrying books, like a cart, wagon or suitcase. But these means for carrying massive amounts of books should not be too large as the aisles need to be kept clear.

Unique Things to Do in Oklahoma City
There is no shortage of things to do in OKC. While there are a handful of things everyone knows about–OKC Zoo, Myriad Gardens, Bricktown, etc– there are even more lesser-known places to experience one-of-a-kind Oklahomaness. Some things cost a little money, others are completely free, but it’s all fun for the whole family.
