With the weather outside getting frightful, how delightful would it be to kick back in a nice warm theater and catch a new release?
GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Winter has definitely arrived in Minnesota.
There’s snow on the ground, temperatures are plunging, windchills are up, and folks are looking to hunker down in a nice, warm spot.
Where better than a movie theater, especially when there are a bunch of new offerings hitting the big screen in the coming weeks? Deep Focus movie critic Brian Eggert dropped by KARE 11 Saturday to offer his take on three new movies you might want to see.
-“Marty Supreme” (in theaters 12/25) Director Josh Safdie and star Timothee Chalamet team for one of the year’s very best films, a tale of table tennis and American ambition.
-“No Other Choice” (on Max screens 12/8, everywhere 12/25) Director Park Chan-wook takes a shrewd, if satirical, look at the dog-eat-dog competition bred by capitalist systems.
-“Jay Kelly” (now on Netflix) An aging movie star is searching for meaning in his life, confronting his past and present, eventually arriving at the intersection of glory and regret.
