LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – The Reading People hosted a book swap today featuring books across all age ranges and genres.
The event included a special section for Valentine’s Day and Black History Month in their own collections. Kids crafts and refreshments were available for attendees.
The Reading People want to make books and literacy accessible to everyone.
“Our mission is empowerment through literacy, so one of the ways we do that is to distribute books throughout the community,” said Brian Babiasz, executive director of The Reading People. “We just want to get books in the hand of people that want them and we want to eliminate barriers to do that.”
The Reading People is open Mondays to Thursdays and the second Saturday of every month. They will be back in March for Reading Month.
