LINDSBORG — The Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery and Bethany College are hosting an event featuring Megan L. Case, assistant professor of religion at the college.
The event is scheduled for 5 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Sandzén Gallery, 401 N. First St.
Case will discuss her new book, “Productive and Disordered Bodies: Judges 19-21 as a Somatic Society,” according to a community announcement.
Case’s book examines how the biblical text depicts bodies as both supporting and challenging pre-monarchic Israelite society. Community members can submit questions for Case about her teaching, research and writing online, according to the announcement.
Case joined the Bethany College faculty in fall 2025. She earned her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016 in Ancient Mediterranean Religions with a graduate portfolio in Women’s and Gender Studies.
She has published work in such journals as Vetus Testamentum and Biblical Interpretation. Case also is the editor of the Poetical and Wisdom Books for the upcoming King James Version Study Bible from Oxford University Press.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
