Bollywood’s Khiladi, Akshay Kumar, is known for his daring stunts, disciplined lifestyle, quick wit. But it turns out there’s one area where he’s hilariously behind: reading books. On the upcoming episode of his quiz reality show ‘Wheel of Fortune’, Akshay made a laugh-out-loud book confession that left the live audience in splits.
“I have not read a single book in my entire life,” Akshay Kumar admitted to contestant Yash, a Marine Engineer with a secret side hustle as a scriptwriter for animated series and Bollywood films. “I read faces. Honestly, my wife is a writer and I think she reads at least one book every day. By God, I haven’t read even one book. I have only read faces. Truly, no book is better than a face.”

Akshay, impressed by the contestant’s creative resume, couldn’t resist pointing out his own complete lack of literary exploration, triggering laughter and applause from the studio audience.
Twinkle Khanna’s literary life
Akshay’s wife, Twinkle Khanna, is almost the exact opposite when it comes to books. After a successful stint in Bollywood with hits like ‘Barsaat’, ‘Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai’, and ‘Baadshah’, Twinkle took a step back from acting following her marriage to Akshay. She didn’t slow down, though.
The former actress reinvented herself as a columnist, author, and interior designer. Her witty writing and humorous take on modern life quickly turned her into a bestselling author.
Twinkle Khanna’s transition from the big screen to the literary world is no small feat. Beyond writing, she has dabbled in interior design and recently co-hosted a talk show with Kajol called ‘Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle’.
