With the release of his new collection of short stories entitled The Scary Parts, Allan MacDonell and Punk Hostage Press announce two book launches in Hollywood and Joshua Tree as part of the Not Dead Yet tour with the first stop Wacko’s Soap Plant on March 1st with supporting guest readings by Jack Grisham (musician – TSOL, author/proprietor – Nuke Pike Press), Iris Berry (musician – The Ringling Sisters, author/proprietor – Punk Hostage Press), Joe Donnelly (author – So Cal: Dispatches From The End of The World, professor), and Crissy Van Meter (author – Creatures).
Allan MacDonnell leads an interesting life. Fortunately for us, he wrote about his wild observations of the physical world and his imagination, blending absurdity with realism, and found publishers with enough cardinal red raw nerve to invest in his work. The seminal author of two memoirs about two unique lives (Punk Elegies & Prisoner of X) and an editorial old hand within Larry Flynt Publications partnered with Los Angeles-based publishing house, Punk Hostage Press, to release The Scary Parts in late 2025.
Allan MacDonell’s Not Dead Yet tour
- March 1st: Wacko’s Soap Plant (Hollywood, CA)
- April 25th: Hey There Projects (Joshua Tree, CA)
