Donald Trump is set to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, January 20, with Joe Biden ensuring a peaceful transfer of power. Trump will take the presidential oath of office during the traditional Inauguration Day ceremonies, which includes a procession to the Capitol by both the outgoing and incoming administrations, the swearing-in of the vice president, an inaugural address by the new president, and the official departure of the outgoing administration.

And as it seems, the duo has decided to take on something that the POTUS enjoys from the core of his heart together, before they take up the office. What better way to connect than playing a good round of golf?

To begin 2025, Donald Trump first threw a star-studded party for the eve. He invited his inverted circle and political personalities, and of course,e JD Vance was one of them. A few hours after the part on Thursday, they were spotted at the Trump International Golf Course in Florida. NUCLR Golf took to their official X account and shared snippets of Trump hitting a Nuke. “U.S. President-elect Donald Trump launches a NUKE during his round today with VP-elect JD Vance in Florida. (Via @Eric_Schmitt)”, they wrote. His shot really did travel an exceptional distance and was hit with power.

While Donald Trump’s shot really was an impressive one, as it turns out, it only managed to garner the positive attention of some. 

The golf world left in splits seeing Donald Trump play

Donald Trump does indeed have a long history with golf. He is a self-proclaimed great golfer, and while he has been praised by pros like Bryson DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson, he has also been accused of cheating. At times, he has taken an unconventional approach to golf tournaments, declaring himself the winner without even stepping onto the course. Michael Bamberger reported that Trump claimed victory in the 2018 club championship at his West Palm Beach golf club, without ever playing in the event.

This raises questions about his relationship with the competitive nature of the sport, blurring the line between personal achievement and self-promotion. He has also cheated in one of his rounds with Tiger Woods. Taking to this, one of them commented, “Guaranteed he cheated on the round.”

In the video, where Donald Trump is seen hitting the nuke, it is not clear if the ball landed inside the hole. The shot was long enough, but nukes are generally between 280 to 350 yards, and for some, it did not seem to be as big a distance as that. Taking to this, one of them wrote, “Oh come on that went nowhere.”

According to the USGA Donald Trump boasts a golf handicap of an impressive 2.5. According to a report in 2020 by Forbes, he has managed to go to golf clubs 285 times and has played 143 times throughout the year. Given the amount of time he has spent playing golf, there is no doubt that he plays well. And of course, his game in the Break 50 has also been the talk of the town. Taking to this, one of them wrote, “Trump is a legit good golfer.” And another sarcastically enough relating nukes to both politics and golf wrote, “They were right when they said Trump will be quick to launch nukes 🐐🐐🐐”.
