BOZEMAN, Mont. — A staple of the Bozeman community for families, the Montana Science Center, is closing its doors after 23 years.
The closure will take effect at the close of business on Tuesday, September 24. The decision to shut down comes after significant financial and operational challenges.
In a heartfelt message, the Board of Directors of the Montana Science Center expressed gratitude for the community’s support.
“This decision was not made lightly, and it weighs heavily on our hearts,” the board said. “Our organization has always strived to provide engaging and educational experiences that inspire curiosity and a love for science in our community.”
Since 2001, the Montana Science Center has provided countless children with opportunities to discover a passion for science, technology, engineering, art, and math through exhibits and programs.
The Board of Directors emphasized their pride in the impact of the center’s employees and volunteers.
“We are incredibly proud of the impact our current and former employees and volunteers have had on countless children,” the board stated. They thanked the community for its support and generosity over the years.
