He was awarded the Fellow medal and plaque presented in absentia, and sent prepared remarks expressing “deep gratitude to everyone at his company, especially the company management, his colleagues and industry mentors who he said have helped him so far on his journey,” the press release said. He singled our Dr. Sevim Erhan who has been a mentor to him for over 30 years and he said he was honored to know her and also thanked her for accepting the award at the meeting on his behalf.
Earlier, Dr. Shah was awarded the Clarence E. Earle Memorial Award at the annual meeting of NLGI held in Toronto. This honor was in recognition for his “outstanding contribution to the technical literature relating to lubricating greases during the year,” especially the Grease guidebook that Bill Tuszynski and Shah edited.
