OPINION:
Recently The Washington Times reported that a researcher who used federal dollars to conduct a study on treating transgender kids with puberty blockers is now refusing to publish the results (“Doctor won’t publish study showing no benefit from puberty blockers for fear it will be ‘weaponized,’” web, Oct. 23).
This is absurd, especially at a time when many countries in Europe are stopping the flow of government money for these operations in teens because the results are very questionable. This doctor is keeping back information we paid for. We have a right to know.
But this is not the only example of the political left withholding vital information. The Democrats withheld information on the lies about Donald Trump being a Russian agent. They withheld information on the existence of the Hunter Biden laptop and what was on it to influence an election. In Maryland, the Democrats until recently have withheld information about different kinds of ankle monitors and the number of criminal youths that have them.
Government agencies have had to issue corrections on economic data that have been issued to support the Democrats’ fiction about how wonderful the economy is. Yes, these are the same people who claim to support scientific studies and results.
But this isn’t real science. Real science is not about shutting down information, hiding study outcomes or denying the opposition a chance to speak. That’s called lying.
