The youth of this nation are facing a mental health crisis. Serious levels of fear and anxiety regarding the future of the world are starting to impact functioning in daily life. There are fears about making a life for themselves, having children and becoming a productive member of society. Much of this angst comes from the climate alarmism propaganda propagated by the mass media and leftist control of the education system. We need to understand and follow the science.
The world is somewhat warmer today. A portion of this is recovery from the Little Ice Age which finally ended in the first half of the 1800s. A portion also comes from adjustments some groups have made to past historical records to decrease past temperatures. Some of this also comes from land use changes that has weather stations that have been encroached upon by urban development skewing the data.
There is no real evidence that the warming that has occurred is a bad thing. Not to downplay the harm caused by recent hurricanes Helene and Milton, severe weather is not becoming more frequent. The rate of sea level rise is not increasing. The number of weather related deaths is decreasing.
Nor is there any real evidence that humans do impact temperatures much. CO2 levels are on the rise from fossil fuel use. However, correlation is not causation. The science is uncertain on to what level this is impacting the climate. Despite claims of a 97% consensus that rising CO2 levels from modern society is to blame, when the base data is analyzed, that is far from the case. The increase in CO2 levels are increasing crop yields and greening the planet.
Further there is little evidence that decreasing human related CO2 output will decrease temperatures, if that is what we really need. All the ‘Net Zero’ push has been shown to have little to no effect. Intermittent and unreliable, so called renewable, energy sources like wind and solar may offer no emissions for energy production but the production of solar panels and wind turbines is very dirty. When you look at life cycle costs and grid reliability, fossil fuels remain the best option until nuclear power can be built cost effectively.
Concerned citizens need to take back control of our schools. Balanced and honest information needs to be provided to our children. In this way they can guide the future and have hope that there is one.
