Students in Rachel Black’s kindergarten class at Frankstown Elementary, Hollidaysburg, were treated to a Halloween-themed science lesson Thursday. Encouraged to use their senses of sight, smell and touch, students examined the inside of a Halloween staple, the pumpkin. At far left, Sydney Daye uses a magnifying glass to examine seeds and more from the inside of a pumpkin. Harper Claar (center) examines the insides of a pumpkin as fellow student Mason Johns waits for his turn. Jay Meadows reacts to touching the wet and slimy insides of a pumpkin.
