Over the past few years, scientists have become obsessed with UFOs as NASA investigates the origins and technology behind the phenomenon.
Since 2022, NASA has had a team of scientists earnestly investigating UFOs, now known as Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), to find out more about the mysterious crafts. When the US government released a report in 2021, the Pentagon formed the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), and NASA scientists have been looking into the reports and investigating UFO and UAP sightings.
Scientists and the government investigate UFOs
The report in 2021, a revelation by a whistleblower of a 2015 naval mission that multiple pilots encountered UFOs, and a congressional hearing on what UFOs and UAPs actually are have led to serious scientific and governmental investigation into the matter.
With the recent release of evidence and reports, there is no doubt that unidentified objects are flying in peculiar and inexplicable ways in the Earth’s atmosphere. Multiple official sources have verified UFOs as an actuality. This begs the question of the existence of extraterrestrial life.
Julia DeMarines, an astrobiologist, is an example of a scientist who hopes to learn more about UFOs and aliens. In a video, she explains her research processes regarding extraterrestrial life.
Earth is 4.5 billion years old, and life has inhabited it for almost as long. Life emerged quite rapidly and easily on Earth. With about a trillion planets in the Milky Way Galaxy alone, it is no wonder scientists assume that aliens could be flying UFOs around our planet. No government agency is as interested in aliens as NASA, as it could be a groundbreaking discovery on their part.
“NASA searches for the unknown in air and space. It’s in our DNA,” said Bill Nelson, NASA’s administrator. He and NASA aim to “shift the conversation about UAP from sensationalism to science.”
Indeed, with scientists from NASA showing a true interest in UFOs, Nelson hopes to turn the idea of UFOs from the stereotypical notion of nonsensical theories to something based on fact and research. This would involve using all the information at their disposal to investigate every incident thoroughly.
On their end, the government and the military are worried about the threat of extraterrestrial life. With AARO, the Pentagon hopes to work with government agencies such as the Department of Defense to ensure that UFOs are not a threat to humanity.
In a statement, the Department of Defense maintained:
“The mission of AARO will be to synchronize efforts across the Department of Defense, and with other U.S. federal departments and agencies, to detect, identify, and attribute objects of interest in, on, or near military installations, operating areas, training areas, special use airspace, and other areas of interest, and, as necessary, to mitigate any associated threats to safety of operations and national security. This includes anomalous, unidentified space, airborne, submerged and transmedium objects.”
