Some Political Scientists have said that the victory of Donald Trump as 47th President of United States of America on November 4 Presidential Election remains a bad news to illegal immigrants in US.
These University Lecturers told our correspondent in an interview in Nsukka on Friday that, Trump as a man who believed in due process would not hesitate after his inauguration on January 20, 2025 as the 47th US President, to send home immigrants without legal and valid documents back to their countries.
Prof Jonah Onuoha, fomer Head of Department, Political Science University of Nigeria Nsukka said Trump didn’t hide his feelings during his campaigns when he said aliens in US without valid documents would be seen as illegal immigrants by his administration, if re-elected.
“So his victory at poll on November 4 should be a bad news to these illegal immigrants without legal documents.
“These illegal immigrants have two options, either to get ready to leave US or secure documents to legalise their stay before January 20 when Trump would be inaugurated for second tenure.
“Everybody has known Trump as no nonsense person who does whatever he says that is right, not minding whose ‘Ox is gored’, he said.
Onuoha who is also the Director, Centre for American Studies in UNN said Trump victory would also be bad news to the militant Hamas in Palestine and Iran government who having been fighting Isreali.
“Trump will ensure that Iran will not continue to join Harmas to fight Isreali as well as using its nuclear weapons to threaten world peace.
” Trump victory is a good news to lseal, that is why Isreali Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and his people have been rejoicing and celebrating the victory of Trump as the next US President come January 20.
Trump as US President at this critical time in the world, will not only benefit the United States but also contribute positively to global democratic ideals and fostering of world peace,” Onuoha said.
The university don, commended US Vice President Kamala Harris for formally conceded defeat to President-elect, Donald Trump.
“I urge African political leaders to emulate Harris patriotism and stop seeing elections in Africa as do or die affair but learn how to show humility and maturity in conceding defeat,”Onuoha added.
Also speaking, Dr Chinedu Ejezie, also Senior Lecturer at UNN Department of Political Science said he was not surprised that Trump would emerged victorious in the just concluded US presidential election.
Ejezie explained that, many Americans have trust and confidence in Trump as the president that would restore the country’s economy as well as ensure American interest first.
“As political Scientist I have no doubt that Trump will win the November 4 presidential poll in US.
“This because many Americans all over the world have trust and confidence on Trump as one who will restore the country’s economy as well as ensure American interest first,”he said
The political scientist and analyst said that, Trump would rejig US economy to boost the economy as well as ensured that illegal immigrants in the country without valid documents were sent back to their home countries in order to restore sanity in US.
“Those who entered US with valid legal documents have no course to fear only those who entered through the ‘back door’ have course to panic because a ‘ new Sheriff is in town’,”he said.
The university don said many Americans voted for Trump because they believed
he had the capacity and political will to make America work again.
“Americans remembered the good works of Trump in his first tenure, that is why they massively voted for him in spite of gang-up by some world leaders to prevent his re-election.
” The President-elect in his campaign, promised to provide tax relief, cutting prices, hiking tariffs and strengthening the economy among other things in order to reposition US ailing economy.
” It’s undisputable fact that, Trump is the best President US and the entire world needed now to help foster peace globally especially now some countries are using their nuclear weapons power to threaten world peace,” Ejezie added.
