Over 200 families have evacuated to safer places in Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija due to the effect of Typhoon “Pepito.”
Citing the report of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the city government said that as of 8:30 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 228 families composed of 606 individuals, including children, have been at the evacuation centers.
“Bumalik na din po ang daloy ng kuryente sa ibang lugar, kung kaya’t ang mga barangay na wala pang kuryente ay maaaring makigamit muna ng kuryente sa karatig lugar FOR EMERGENCY PURPOSES ONLY po (charging of phones o portable fans o radio) upang maiwasan parin ang paglabas ng mga tahanan,” it said.
The local government urged the residents to report to the authorities if there were fallen trees or posts in their respective areas.
“Manatili po tayong alerto at patuloy po tayong manalangin para sa tuluyang paghina at pagkalusaw ng Bagyong Pepito,” it said.
As of 8 p.m. Sunday, the state weather forecaster said the Science City of Muñoz was under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4.
