BANGOR, Wis. – (WXOW) – Science up close will be that much closer in Ms. Morgan Beckman’s Life Science classes at Bangor Middle and High School.
Beckman is the recipient of November’s Tools for Schools award.
She will use the $1,000 to purchase new microscopes for her classroom. The new equipment will allow what students see to be transferred to their iPads.
“We can go back to those pictures and we can identify those structures again, they can label things and they can go home and show their parents,” said Beckman. “That opportunity allows kids to be excited about science beyond the classroom.”
Beckman added how with the adapters, it also allows for students to work together in smaller groups.
For Teresa Knutson from sponsor River Bank, the new equipment is an immediate upgrade, and that’s part of what makes Tools for Schools a great way to help.
“It makes us feel part of the community. We’re just so happy to help out all of our Coulee Region teachers and the schools and just bringing them up to speed on the things they need.”
Tools for Schools is made possible through all of it’s sponsors including River Bank, Ryan Shultz and Associates, The Board Store, and Kish and Sons Electric.
