On November 25, a group of scientists from the People’s Republic of China visited the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat to participate in the III Turkmen-Chinese Science and Innovation Forum “Innovations, new technologies and issues of their manufacturing application”.
The guests were informed about the institute’s history, the principles of organizing research work at the modern stage, and the implementation of their results in production. They also learned about the achievements of local chemists, promising plans for developing the chemical industry and international cooperation in this field. The Chinese scientists visited laboratories and familiarized themselves with ongoing research work. They showed particular interest in research and scientific developments related to the processing of mineral, hydromineral, and hydrocarbon raw materials and the production of mineral and organomineral fertilizers based on local resources. During an engaging exchange of views, Turkmen scientists made several proposals for further expanding scientific cooperation. It was emphasized that a wide range of joint scientific and practical activities is mutually beneficial and meets the interests of Turkmenistan and China in chemistry, chemical technologies and ecology.
The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s address to participants of the III Turkmen-Chinese Science and Innovation Forum defined the main goal of the country’s scientific and technical policy as striving to elevate science to higher levels and enhance international cooperation in science and innovative technologies. Noting that the People’s Republic of China is among the leading countries in development, including in science and high technologies, the head of state emphasizes that a key direction in bilateral relations has become constructive partnership in culture, education, science, training qualified personnel, and implementing advanced technologies in production. In this regard, a subcommittee on scientific and technical cooperation operates within the structure of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee.
The future of science in Turkmenistan will largely depend on its rapid and effective integration into the global scientific community. Therefore, comprehensive measures are being taken in Turkmenistan to expand international cooperation in science, technology and innovative technologies, as well as to support and develop various forms of collaboration between Turkmen scientists and their colleagues from other countries.
