In commemoration of World Science Day, Lenasia Ext. 3 Library hosted an ‘Hour of Science’ programme on November 7, 2024. Budding young scientists of Grades 3 and 4 levels from Elite Learning Academy were exposed to a fun interactive hour of science experiments. They learnt several concepts, including air pressure, vacuums, density and reactions. To add to the fun and excitement of the morning, learners each had the opportunity to do a ‘Mad Scientist’ outfit.
Program coordinator Ferhaad Vally expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the program and the enthusiasm of the learners.
“We aimed to show learners how science is central to our daily lives and to expose learners to the wonderful possibilities that a career in science has to offer. We were delighted by how engaged and enthusiastic the learners were,” Vally said.
Elite Learning Academy principal Rukshana Dawood was grateful for the opportunity afforded to the learners.
“Our school takes pride in exposing our learners to holistic learning experiences. We thank the staff of Lenasia Ext. 3 Library for hosting our learners. It was a truly absorbing event, and our learners found immense benefit,” commented Dawood.
The program will continue over the next few days and would include other schools from the Lenasia area. The library hopes to make this an annual event, thereby exposing more learners and schools to the amazing world of science.
