New data from the 2023 calendar year published by the Elsevier Data Repository in Fall 2024 names 14 scientists from Illinois State University as in the top two percent (top 100,000) of cited researchers globally. The data are based on the August 1, 2024 snapshot from Scopus, updated to end of citation year 2023. Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields, and reviewed for single-year citations and career citations. Nine of the 14 Illinois State scientists were recognized on both lists.
“This recognition of these 14 faculty members demonstrates the impact of Illinois State researchers contributing and influencing on a global scale,” said Illinois State University Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies Craig C. McLauchlan. “Not all disciplines use citation metrics, but in those that do, it is a testament to the impact of our scholarly and creative productivity to be included here. The influence of these faculty is also working to help meet our institutional vision of connecting teaching, research, innovation and intercultural understanding that is outlined in our new strategic plan, Excellence by Design.”
The 14 faculty represent four different colleges across the University.
