Especially for students who attend schools that no longer host local fairs, the fair allows students to register and compete directly in a regional competition and potentially advance to a state-level fair in March, a release said.
Participants can win awards in their categories and special prizes will be awarded for projects demonstrating innovation and potential for real-world impact, a release said.
Top projects will compete at the 87th Annual Minnesota Science and Engineering Fair on Friday, March 28, at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul.
