The Patuxent Partnership offers this reminder: the 2025 St. Mary’s County Science and Engineering Fair will be held Friday, January 17, 2025. And judges are needed.
The event will be held at the University System of Maryland at Southern Maryland SMART Building at 4219 Airport Road in California, MD. The award ceremony will be held on the same afternoon. The snow date will be January 24 at the same location.
Would you be willing to serve as a judge in this year’s fair? In-person judging starts at 8am and lasts until approximately noon. Judges will have the opportunity to view an online presentation of each project and these will be posted one week before the fair. Email Ferd Reetz at [email protected] or call 301-247-9941 if you would be like to serve as a judge on the primary date and/or the backup date.
A listing of the science fair categories as defined by the International Science Fair can be found here.
The special awards and grand awards also will need judges. (If you volunteer to judge a special/grand award you will be required to stay a little bit later than the rest of the judges.)
The fair website contains links to general information, science and engineering categories, and judging information.
