The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has launched the Low Altitude Economy Research Center (LAERC) to align with national and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government strategies for advancing the Low Altitude Economy (LAE). The Center’s activities are focused on advancing the technical foundations required to support low-altitude operations. Specific projects address airspace management, route planning, and mobility solutions using micro-weather data and advanced control technologies.
