Six Arkansas educators are among more than 300 teachers nationally to be named by the White House as recipients of the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
The Arkansas teachers were among three cohorts of teachers named state finalists over the course of 2021, 2022 and 2023 for the presidential awards announced Monday.
The Arkansas teachers are:
Mary Maris, who has been a chemistry teacher at Little Rock Central High.
Wesley Davis, who has been an Advanced Placement Calculus and Advanced Placement Statistics teacher at Cabot High.
Patrycja Krakowiak-Valdivia, who has been a life sciences instructor at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts in Hot Springs.
Jamie Ramsey, who has been a science teacher at Jim D.
