KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Higher Education announced that detergent products manufactured by the Faculty of Science of Herat University have been unveiled for the first time.
In a statement, the ministry said the products—marketed under the brand name “Kimia”—include dishwashing liquid, handwashing liquid, and glass cleaner.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by the university’s leadership, faculty deans, and professors of Herat University.
Mawlawi Abdul Ghani Haqqani, Chancellor of Herat University, praised the initiative of the Faculty of Science and the efforts of its academic staff.
He welcomed such scientific and production-oriented projects and reaffirmed that Herat University, as well as the leadership of the Ministry of Higher Education, fully supports innovative initiatives from other faculties.
He urged professors and academic departments to present practical plans and applied ideas in order to strengthen the role of universities in addressing societal challenges and enhancing the country’s scientific and productive self-reliance.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Science described the initiative as the result of effective coordination among various departments of the university, noting that such institutional support creates opportunities for the growth of scientific and production-based innovations at the university level.
The professors from the Department of Biology provided detailed and specialized explanations during the event, covering the production process, implementation methods, material quality, and practical applications of the detergents.
They emphasized that the products were developed in accordance with scientific standards, taking into account market demands and environmental considerations, and noted that they have strong potential for future expansion and commercialization.
