PanARMENIAN.Net – Deputy Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan attended the graduation ceremony for the Mini MBA program at the YSU ISTC Innovation Center, initiated by Yerevan State University’s business incubator.
In his speech, Arshakyan emphasized the importance of educational initiatives like this one, addressing the evolving relationship between science and industry since Armenia’s independence. He noted that during the Soviet era, science, education, and industry operated as an interconnected system. However, that structure deteriorated in the 1990s, leaving science to function largely separate from industrial applications.
“People want to see a link with industry. Today’s new programs give science the chance to engage with industrial development, technology, and investors, allowing scientists to showcase their innovations and technologies. Scientific results don’t always need to transition directly into industry, but this should happen more frequently so their efficiency can be measured and contribute to the nation, the economy, and society,” Arshakyan stressed.
