The University of Leeds has announced that applications are now open for its three-year BSc Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) degree programme, specifically targeting Indian students. The course is designed to develop the next generation of AI innovators with a strong foundation in computing and specialist knowledge in artificial intelligence.
The programme equips students with core computer science knowledge including algorithms, data structures and systems, while introducing advanced AI concepts such as machine learning, deep learning and text analytics. Students will have opportunities for work placements and study abroad options to enhance their real-world experience.
The course is delivered by academic experts specializing in algorithms, distributed systems and artificial intelligence. Teaching is informed by world-class research, ensuring learning remains relevant and aligned with current industry developments.
Entry requirements for Indian applicants vary by board. Students from CBSE, CISCE, or West Bengal Board need an overall average of 75% and 80% in the two most relevant subjects including Mathematics. State board applicants require an overall average of 80% and 85% in the two most relevant subjects including Mathematics.
The programme starts in September 2026 with a duration of 3 years full-time. Students can opt for an industrial placement year after their second year, extending the degree to 4 years. The final UCAS deadline is 30 June 2026, though early applications should arrive by 14 January 2026.
English language requirements include standard XII English at 70% or 75% depending on the state board, or IELTS 6.5 overall. The annual tuition fee is £32,750 (approximately ₹34,15,694).
Indian students are eligible for an automatic £5,000 fee reduction scholarship. Additionally, the International Excellence Scholarship offers 500 awards with up to a 50% fee reduction for international students.
Graduates can pursue careers across various sectors including technology, finance, gaming, media, education, government agencies, consultancies, retail, and research and development. The university ranks as the 6th most targeted institution by UK top graduate employers according to High Fliers 2025.
