The Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh on Monday held a year-end press conference summarizing the results of 2025, highlighting the dynamic development of Russian–Bangladeshi cooperation in culture, education, and science.
During the event, the Director of the Russian House in Dhaka Alexandra Khlevnoy presented the key projects successfully implemented by the Russian House throughout the year.
She thanked the Embassy of the Russian Federation and Bangladeshi media partners and briefly summarized the humanitarian, cultural, and educational activities carried out in 2025.
Khlevnoy emphasized that the Russian House works in close coordination with the Embassy and serves as an important platform for promoting dialogue through culture, education, science, and people-to-people exchanges.
She highlighted cultural diplomacy as one of the most visible areas of cooperation, noting a wide range of initiatives, including concerts, folklore performances, national celebrations, film screenings, and commemorative evenings.
These large-scale public events brought together thousands of guests in Dhaka, strengthened cultural dialogue between the two countries, and reflected the historical foundations of Russian–Bangladeshi relations and shared respect for historical memory.
Education was identified as a core strategic priority. The Director welcomed the decision to increase Russian government scholarships for Bangladeshi students to 200 in 2026, describing it as an investment in human capital and the shared future of bilateral relations.
She reaffirmed the Russian House’s commitment to supporting Russian language education, academic and research cooperation, and student exchanges, and expressed confidence in further expanding educational and cultural cooperation in the coming year.
Special attention was also given to education and science cooperation. It was announced that in 2026, 200 Russian government scholarships will be available for Bangladeshi citizens — a significant increase compared to previous years.
The Russian House continues to support Russian language education, academic exchanges, and educational seminars, opening new opportunities for Bangladeshi students.
As part of the press conference, the International Documentary Film Festival “RT.DOC: Time of Our Heroes” was officially presented by Dmitry Khrustalev, creator of the RT Doc documentary channel.
