A bestselling French book making the case that contemporary scientific discoveries support the existence of God has been released in English, drawing attention from the faithful interested in the intersection of faith and science.
Originally published in 2021, the book sold over 400,000 copies. It reached and reaching No. 1 on charts in France and Spain, and No. 2 in Italy.
God, the Science, the Evidence: The Dawn of a Revolution, written by Michel-Yves Bolloré and Olivier Bonnassies, hit U.S. and international shelves in October.
The book presents a rigorous, accessible case for what authors Michel-Yves Bolloré and Olivier Bonnassies call a “great reversal”—shifting science from apparent opposition to faith toward strong alignment with the existence of God.
It argues that modern discoveries in cosmology — such as the Big Bang, which implies the universe had a definite beginning requiring an external cause — as well as findings in physics, including the fine-tuning of universal constants that make life possible, and biology, particularly the improbable origin and complexity of life, collectively challenge materialism and point to an intelligent, transcendent Creator rather than random chance. The book also extends beyond science to philosophical, historical, moral, and miraculous evidence — including biblical prophecies and events such as Fatima — in support of a personal God, and is presented with full-color illustrations.
The book features quotes from more than 100 scientists, including 62 Nobel laureates, and stems from nearly four years of research in collaboration with over 20 specialists. It includes a preface by Nobel Prize-winning physicist Robert W. Wilson, co-discoverer of the cosmic microwave background radiation, who writes that evidence of the universe’s beginning raises unavoidable questions about creation.
Author Michel-Yves Bolloré, a computer engineer with a master’s degree in science and a doctorate in business administration from Paris Dauphine University, previously led industrial divisions and founded companies in mechanical engineering. He has written more than 20 books on faith and reason and helped launch Catholic media projects. Co-author Olivier Bonnassies, a graduate of the prestigious École Polytechnique, HEC Startup Institute, and the Catholic Institute of Paris (with a license in theology), converted from atheism at age 20.
