When travelling abroad, the ideal weather conditions for many would be a place that isn’t too hot, but isn’t too cold either.
A gentle gust of wind can help you feel refreshed when exploring a warmer climate, but where can you find the ‘perfect breeze’?
Meteorologist Jim N. R. Dale used his expertise from the navy, and as a senior meteorologist at the British Weather Services, to calculate the destinations where you’ll be most likely to experience it.
The study looked at four key factors – temperature, humidity, wind speed and wind direction.
Jim reckons the ‘perfect breeze’ seamlessly balances all of the important aspects to produce the ideal weather conditions.
‘The perfect breeze can be elusive, especially on hot and sticky days when you need it most,’ he says.
The meteorologist believes such an ideal breeze even beats mod cons like air conditioning.
He adds, ‘But when all the elements align, wind speed, direction and just the right level of humidity, it can be more refreshing than any air conditioning and completely natural.’

The research, from medical travel insurance company AllClear, applied a formula consisting of coastal and inland breeze conditions to over 100 popular holiday destinations.
Sydney, Australia came out as the very best spot with an impressive score of 96.4 out of 100.
The popular location boasts warm weather and dreamy beaches that combine to create the conditions for a perfect breeze, according to the research.
Visitors exploring the city or sipping a drink outside at a bar are likely to find the ideal weather to do so.
Two more Australian spots made the top 15 – Whitsundays placed sixth with a score of 85.
Meanwhile Melbourne ranked 14th and scored 68 out of 100.
Rio de Janeiro in Brazil came second and, according to AllClear, it’s ‘where Atlantic Ocean winds cool the city’s tropical heat’.
The popular destination boasts an impressive perfect breeze score of 93.1.

In third place is Paphos, Cyprus, which has a pleasant Mediterranean wind that creates ideal conditions scoring 91.4.
Puerto de la Cruz, Spain, came fourth and was followed by Phuket, Thailand, in fifth place.
The rest of the top 10 was made up of Whitsundays; Ibiza; Cefalu, Italy; Galle, Sri Lanka; and Boa Vista, Cape Verde.
As for inland spots, Zurich, Switzerland, was the highest scoring in 13th place, with a score of 68.2 out of 100.
