ArmInfo. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia (MECS) will support the training of personnel for the light industry.
This was stated in a statement by the ministry, citing a memorandum
of understanding and cooperation signed between MESCS and Alex
Textile.
Specifically, the memorandum covers the training of professional
personnel in the textile and clothing industries and fashion
technologies.
The parties will jointly invest in the Yerevan State College of Light
Industry, which will be aimed at improving the quality of vocational
education and training in the textile and clothing industries, as
well as fashion technologies, creating the necessary educational and
practical environment, improving the qualifications of faculty, and
implementing development programs.
During the signing of the memorandum, RA Minister of Education,
Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized the
importance of public-private cooperation, noting that the vocational
education system is a key component of economic development, and
close cooperation will help prepare specialists who meet labor market
requirements. Alex Textile CEO Marat Movsisyan stated that the
company is ready to assist in the modernization of the college’s
facilities and participate in organizing work-based learning (dual
learning), developing practical training programs, and training
specialists. He noted that Alex Textile collaborates with major
international companies, and this memorandum of understanding signed
with the government creates new opportunities for expanding
partnerships. Marat Movsisyan also noted that experienced foreign
specialists are willing to come to Armenia and share their knowledge
and practical experience with local staff.
