FORT WAYNE – Express your creativity and test your engineering skills. Science Central’s next temporary exhibition, “Build It: Big Blue Blocks,” opens Saturday, Jan. 17.
This exhibition features large, lightweight blocks that come in a variety of shapes – bricks, cylinders, chutes, channels and more.
“Build It: Big Blue Blocks” gives visitors the chance to make extra-large structures, explore their imagination, invent games and more.
The exhibition is an open-ended experience, featuring building prompts offering visitors an inspirational nudge. “Build It: Big Blue Blocks” is suitable for ages 3 and up, making it an experience for the whole family.
The exhibition also features a section with blocks shaped like dinosaur bones, inviting visitors to make their very own prehistoric creatures and pretend to be paleontologists.
“Build It: Big Blue Blocks” was conceived and designed by award-winning architect David Rockwell, who was inspired by watching his own children play. His firm has been internationally recognized for its array of projects, from restaurants to stage sets, hotels to historic restorations, and art programming to interactive design.
“Build It: Big Blue Blocks” will be located in Science Central’s Temporary Exhibitions Gallery. Entry is included with general admission. The exhibition will run through May 24.
